Responding to COVID-19
At AmerisourceBergen and through our family of companies, we ensure that crucial medications efficiently, reliably and securely reach their destinations every day. We recognize that our work is essential in advancing the treatment and prevention of COVID-19 and are dedicated to supporting our team members, customers, partners and patients at this critical time for healthcare.

Addressing COVID-19
Besse Medical's response to COVID-19
Information and resources for our customers
As the scale of the COVID-19 pandemic became apparent to physicians, manufacturers and the public alike, we provided these invaluable resources, webinars, and information.
Media Statement on Federal Retail Pharmacy Program
With the start of the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program, AmerisourceBergen will formally begin its role as a “network administrator” and place orders with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on behalf of an initial set of eligible and qualified Good Neighbor Pharmacy and Elevate Provider Network members in certain areas.
Safety of our team members
The health, safety and well-being of our team members is a top priority during this global pandemic. We're supporting our front-line employees during COVID-19 with:
- Enhanced cleaning protocol including EPA-approved disinfectants and additional support from third-party cleaners
- Implemented "Wally" the UV disinfection robot in our distribution centers to ensure maximum cleanliness and team member safety
- Back-up dependent care program
- Enhanced paid time off policy for team members needing to self-quarantine or care for family members
Business continuity
Our customers rely on us in order to treat and care for their patients which means it is paramount that we ensure any disruptions to our operations do not impact our ability to deliver on our customers’ needs.

Product availability & market disruption
We continue to apply innovation to ensure a stable supply of medicines to sites of care.
“It is better for patients and for the security of the supply chain to maintain inventory at the distributor level, rather than concentrate too many resources at any one site of care. This helps ensure the pharmaceutical supply chain's flexibility and responsiveness.”

Partnerships
Responding to a global pandemic, including planning for the distribution of treatment and prevention therapies for COVID-19, takes a coordinated effort. We continue to strengthen our public-private partnerships to support the pharmaceutical supply chain in addressing the COVID crisis.
